Hello Jon,
what about adding a "time outline" to the ZendCasts?
It would give an overview and make them "searchable". This is extremely useful if you saw the ZendCast some time ago and come back to see how a problem has been approached.
This is what I mean:
Let's take this ZendCast as an example: http://www.zendcasts.com/zend_form-intr … 1/2009/02/
00:00 Project Structure
00:35 Creating Class "ItemDto"
03:27 Creating Controller "ItemController"
06:44 Creating View "item"
09:40 Functionality Check
10:08 Creating Class "ItemEditor"
and so on...
Benefits:
+ Gives the videos a searchable structure, so people can jump to the part that they are interested in. -> usually after they watched it fully the first time...
+ The outline will be searchable from the search field
+ General overview
+ SEO ![]()
Drawbacks:
+ Some more work for you
-> But you could start with the outline first when you plan the ZendCast. The Storyboard
You probably already do, because the ZendCasts are very structured -> amazing!
OK, enough... So what do you think about this?
Thanks, Udo

Hey Udo,
that's a great idea ![]()
You're right that I do it anyways. I've toyed with the idea of getting a mechanical turk to do a show transcript, but this would probably be more useful ![]()

Glad to hear!
Regarding a transcript. Google is working on it... Maybe you already know this Google Labs Tool: http://labs.google.com/gaudi
It was pretty popular during US elections.
I also think that if you use YouTube you can add chapter info to the progress bar... but not sure about this. So far I'm only a YouTube "consumer". ![]()
